Despite all

Despite all that goes on and goes wrong, despite all who are displaced, misplaced, or plain lost, the world we live in is a beautiful place. An intricate, interchanging, and interchangeable mishmash of connections and missing links.

That, is one of the ills of society: missing links. When a connection is amiss, between people, between governments and their populace, between people and their planet, then things truly are amiss. When our planet is seen as a commodity instead of a living entity; a lively, unruly, messy entity then much goes wrong and in the wrong direction.

We live in a beautiful world

What better way to connect that to travel. To see the selfsame world from a new perspective, to discover that some truths are eternal and some, that we hold as self evident, change when seen from a previously undiscovered angle.

The essence of travel

That, I think, is the essence of travel; to find new connections to what was previously known and, to that which has until recently remained unknown. Be it a place or an idea.

To meet new worlds, to encounter strange new truths where none were seen before. To boldly go, even where many have gone before. If we do this then we can truly connect.
