Scotland:Munro Inn in Strathyre

Our journey in Scotland begins in the Munro Inn
We travel overnight from Rotterdam to Hull. Then, via Carlisle to Strathyre where the Munro Inn is the stuff of stories told and where a lot of stories are being told. We meet the friendly patrons of the pub, and have a beer or two with them. They complain about the fact that there are no women (to speak of) in Stathyre. Even the quirky German girl who serves all and listens to each with a thousand different expressions on her face, is about to go off. Back to Denmark to finish her PhD on the effects of peat on greenhouse gasses.
Politics
We discuss European politics. The Germans, French and Dutch in the bar all agree that one united Europe is the only way forward. Next morning sees a very different conversation. As we talk with two Texans who are slightly exasperated by the everlasting questions about their president. “I think he is a good president, and he would be an even better one if he wasn’t such an ass”. On that note we leave for the next lap of our journey.
No more
Unfortunately the Munro Inn is now closed, unless you would like to make a good bid. we had a wonderful stay there. So, hopefully someone will buy this pub/hotel and turn it in a wonderful bed and breakfast.
